OSINT investigations that end in action.
OSINT investigations are the research arm of Fraudox brand protection. When you need to know who is behind a fake account, how far a scam network reaches, or who you are about to do business with, our analysts work through the public record and hand you findings you can act on.
What we investigate
Open-source intelligence, applied to the questions that come up when a brand, a person or a deal is at stake.
Impersonator and scammer profiling
Who is running the fake account, page or store. We connect reused usernames, images, contact details and payment details across platforms to build a profile of the operator.
Scam and fraud network mapping
One fake page is rarely alone. We map the accounts, domains, ads and storefronts run by the same operator, so you can act on the whole network instead of one link.
Domain and infrastructure investigation
Registration history, hosting, shared infrastructure and related domains behind a suspicious site, including which other sites the same setup is serving.
Due diligence and background checks
What the public record shows about a person or company before a partnership, a senior hire, an investment or a deal: ownership, history, press, disputes and online footprint.
Executive and VIP exposure assessment
What anyone can find about your executives, founders and public figures: exposed personal details, fake profiles and the material an impersonator would use against them.
Evidence packs for legal action
Findings documented with their source, capture and date, organised so your lawyer, a platform or the authorities can follow the case from start to finish.

How an investigation runs
Define the question
You tell us who or what you need to understand and why. We agree the scope and quote it.
Collect
Analysts gather what is publicly available across the web, social platforms, domains and public records.
Verify and connect
A person checks each finding against other sources and works out what connects to what.
Report and act
You get the report. Anything that needs removing can go straight into our takedown workflow with the evidence ready.
OSINT investigations FAQ
What is an OSINT investigation? +
OSINT stands for open-source intelligence: information that is already publicly available, collected and analysed to answer a specific question. The value is not in finding one page. It is in connecting scattered public traces into a picture you can act on.
Is OSINT legal? +
Yes. Everything in our reports comes from publicly available information, collected lawfully and documented with its source, so you can show where each finding came from.
Can you find out who is behind a fake account? +
It depends on how much the operator has left in public. Reused usernames, images, contact details and infrastructure often connect a fake account to other accounts and to the person running them. The report separates what is confirmed from what is likely, so you know what you can rely on.
Will the person I am asking about find out? +
We work from public information and do not contact the subject of the investigation.
Can the results be used in a legal case? +
Findings are documented with their source, capture and date so your lawyer can work from them directly. If you need a takedown as well, the same evidence supports the filing.
Do I need a Fraudox plan? +
No. An investigation is a standalone engagement. It also works alongside a takedown plan or a brand protection program if you already have one.
How much does an investigation cost? +
Each one is quoted on its scope, because checking one company and mapping a large fraud network are very different pieces of work. Tell us what you need to find out and we will scope it.
